Tesla Company will arrange the Chinese premiere of its humanoid robot Optimus at the upcoming November 5-10 V Chinese Import EXPO in Shanghai.
The world premiere of Optimus took place just a month ago. According to the head of Tesla, Elon Musk, the robot will go on sale by 2027 at a price of about 20 thousand dollars apiece. The company intends to produce "millions" of such bots, Musk noted.
Little is known about the characteristics of the robot yet. It weighs 73 kilograms, while it can handle quite impressive loads: the load on one leg can reach 455 kilograms. It is not surprising that at the first stage these humanoids will be tested and used as movers at Tesla's Gigafactories. "The economic productivity of the bot is already twice as high as that of a human, and it will grow," Musk assured.
By the time of the start of wide sales, the functionality of humanoid robots will expand significantly: they are able to become everyday human assistants. Especially for gentlemen, "kawaii" versions of Optimus-Catgirl will be created in the form of a young, bright-eyed young lady with ears. This will not require large expenditures: thousands of types of "skinning" can be easily developed for a humanoid robot - it's like phone cases, experts noted.
The V Chinese Import EXPO will be attended by enterprises from 127 countries and regions. Among the participants are 284 corporations from the list of 500 largest global companies. Hundreds of world and Chinese premieres will take place at the exhibition.
