Capcom has improved its financial projections for the year following impressive sales from its latest game releases, including Dragon's Dogma 2. The company now anticipates its net sales will rise by 8.9 percent to 152.4 million yen and net income will increase by 8.3 percent to 43.3 million yen.
The adjustment in the forecast comes on the heels of exceptional performance from venerable titles such as Street Fighter 6 and Dragon's Dogma 2. The company reported that Street Fighter 6 received global praise, and Dragon's Dogma 2 has also seen favorable outcomes, contributing significantly to Capcom's commercial success.
Additionally, the steady demand for Capcom’s classic series, referred to as catalog titles, which includes longstanding favorites like Monster Hunter and Resident Evil, has further supported Capcom's strong financial performance.
Capcom has scheduled a comprehensive earnings report next month, though it has not disclosed specific updated sales numbers at this time. Nonetheless, since its release, Dragon’s Dogma 2 has rapidly sold 2.5 million copies, propelling the series past the 10 million sales mark. On another front, Street Fighter 6 is approaching its first anniversary and has achieved over 3 million sales.
In related updates, a new patch for Dragon's Dogma 2 has recently been released. This update notably decreases the rate of Dragonsplague infections, among other modifications, sparking some debate among gamers.
