Spider-Man Faces New Magical Challenges in The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man Comic Series

Spider-Man fans have much to look forward to as Marvel reveals new information about the upcoming storyline in Amazing Spider-Man. Writer Joe Kelly and artist Ed McGuiness are set to bring readers a thrilling new arc, titled "The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man," which was introduced during Marvel's Next Big Thing panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego. The announcement includes some unexpected elements, especially for those following the current Blood Hunt crossover.

It's highly advised that readers be aware of spoilers related to Blood Hunt. As revealed, the storyline will conclude with Doctor Strange passing the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme to Doctor Doom, a figure long speculated to take on this role. This transition leads to a new status quo called "One World Under Doom", discussed extensively during the panel presentations.

In his new role, part of Doom's duty will be safeguarding the planet from magical threats. However, Doom aims much higher and plans to recruit Spider-Man to serve as Earth's magical guardian. Spider-Man will receive a magical suit and an astonishing eight "extra lives" to help him endure the challenges that lie ahead.

Marvel has shared artist McGuiness' design for Spider-Man's magical suit, alongside the covers for Amazing Spider-Man issues #61 and #62. According to Marvel's description of the storyline, Doctor Doom, now Sorcerer Supreme, opts to delegate his predecessor's demanding task of saving the world from a malevolent deity to none other than Spider-Man. Armed with a new magic-powered suit and additional lives, Spider-Man's mission, as hinted, won't be easy.

This exciting narrative will also feature contributions from writer Justina Ireland and artist Gleb Melnikov, who will join Kelly and McGuiness. The storyline is set to span ten issues, beginning in November, immediately following the conclusion of the current run by writer Zeb Wells and artist John Romita Jr.

Enthusiasts are encouraged to keep an eye out for additional news and new releases in the Spider-Man franchise that Marvel has planned for their forthcoming lineup of comics.
