Lately, the video game industry seems to be full of bad news for its workers. Following previous layoffs at Epic Games and Sega's Creative Assembly, Team17, well-known for publishing games like the two Blasphemous titles and the Worms series, is now facing cuts.
As per Eurogamer, the publisher, in an internal announcement, disclosed a restructuring process affecting their entire QA team, approximately 50 staff members. In addition, it is speculated that current CEO, Michael Pattison, might leave the company shortly. Even though Team17 has yet to provide an official statement, it's reported that the main factor is the outsourcing of the QA team.
This comes as the second job-cut move by Team17 in 2023, with dismissals previously impacting the internal development divisions back in March.
